American Airlines Drops Three AAdvantage Hotel Partners Effective April 1, 2020

American Airlines was busy emailing select AAdvantage program members on Friday, informing them that partnerships with three hotel loyalty programs would come to an end on March 31, 2020.

AAdvantage members won’t be able to earn or convert their hotel loyalty program points from Best Western Rewards, Choice Privileges, and Hilton Honors after that date.

You can access AA’s page for hotel partners here.

Here are the discontinued partners again:

  • Best Western Rewards
  • Choice Privileges
  • Hilton Honors

Here’s the email from AA:

American Airlines and World of Hyatt launched a partnership in 2019 for reciprocal miles and points earnings, and select elite benefits. Marriott Bonvoy has teamed up with United Airlines (previously SPG had deep one with Delta).

Hilton Honors is the only program that doesn’t have a team-up among the legacy three airlines in the United States.

Historically, members from hotel loyalty programs have been able to convert their points to most airline programs. It seems that this is changing.
