The St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort offers 33 on-land and 44 over-water villas with island-inspired design, refined furnishings, private pools and terraces with ocean or garden views. The resort also boasts the largest three-bedroom over-water villa in the Maldives, the John Jacob Astor Estate.

Here’s some official pictures and the property’s description of their Beach Villa:

Beach Villa with Pool 1 Bedroom Villa, 1 King, Sofa bed, Ocean view, Beach front, Private pool

Wake to exhilarating sea breezes and alluring views of the Indian Ocean from the thoughtfully appointed terrace of our Beach Villa with Pool, the ideal union of elegant design and engaging amenities.

Overlooking Vommuli’s white-sand beaches and the ocean’s azure waves, the ample wooden terrace is immaculately furnished with a plush daybed and sun loungers. A 16-square-meter private plunge pool invites guests to enjoy a refreshing dip. Natural light through floor-to-ceiling glass doors brightens the indoor space. Mahogany ceilings and floors harmonize with a winsome palette of cream, sand, turquoise, and gold.

A comfortable sofa and a cream armchair with coordinating ottoman form a welcoming living space. Wake to tranquil garden views from the crisp white linens of a signature king-size St. Regis Bed. A plush chaise lounge accompanied by a burnished wood side table is situated conveniently at the foot of the bed. State-of-the-art entertainment includes a Bang & Olufsen 46-inch LCD television and sound system as well as iPad room controls. An elegant writing desk enhanced with multimedia connectivity provides a comfortable workspace.

Illuminated by a skylight and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors as well as an exquisite chandelier, our timber- and marble-encased bathrooms redefine craftsmanship. A private wooden deck houses the outdoor shower with dual showerhead, complemented by an indoor glass-enclosed rainforest shower. A separate soaking bathtub elevated by Remède bath amenities ensures unsurpassed pampering. Exquisite double vanities are enhanced by a 20-inch mirror-embedded LCD television and burnished fixtures.

Fulfilling our legacy of exceptional service, our St. Regis Butlers tend to each request promptly and discreetly, day or night.

Now our take. Here is our video review and commentary on this suite:

Conclusion

We were definitely not impressed by this resort. When you get a beach villa, you expect, at least, beach views. Sometimes top luxury properties overpromise and underdeliver in terms of their offerings, and for John this was definitely the case, especially considering that this resort ain’t cheap!
