When we compiled the Hilton Master Property List (access here) with all point requirements and properties that require 5,000 and 10,000 points per night (access here), we also gathered other data in the process.
Can you guess which is Hilton affiliated brand with most properties, or what is Honors point distribution among all 6,012 hotels?
You can access Hilton’s page for hotel awards here.
Hilton Brand Distribution:
42% of Hilton affiliated hotels are Hampton Inns. I am sure, however, that they don’t represent 42% of all the rooms in the system or the revenue. This demonstrates how easy it is to put a Hampton box even in the smaller cities and communities.
You have to remember that Hilton greatest weakness is the lack of luxury properties. There are only 68 Conrad and Waldorf Astoria branded hotels.
Honors Points Distribution:
You can still see the old award categories. There are very few 15K, 25K, 35K, and 45K points per night hotels.
Here’s the post about 5,000 and 10,000 points per night hotels:
Hilton Honors Master Property list:
Hilton needs more luxury hotels and brands (you cannot call the namesake brand as a luxury one), and DoubleTree, which is mostly used for conversions, is all over in regards to the quality of properties (some are great while others are not).
When it comes to the number of points required for awards, 77% of hotels need 30K, 40K, or 50K points per night.
