Marriott Ambassadors have been busy sending emails over the past few days to members whose status is soon downgraded.
After cutting my Marriott stays by 70% last year due to customer service and IT issues, it didn’t come as a surprise that I didn’t requalify for 2020.

I hope you’ve been well and that 2020 will be a prosperous year for you.
Thank you for your loyalty to Marriott Bonvoy. As you know, to renew the Ambassador Elite status, you need to stay 100 qualifying nights and have USD 20,000 qualifying spend in a calendar year. Although you didn’t quite reach this milestone in 2019, you will continue to receive many outstanding benefits with your Lifetime Titanium Elite Status.

The Ambassador service used to be worth something, not much even then, under the SPG. Now, it is worse than long gone SPG Platinum Chart. I have only used my Ambassador for fixing points and promotions, and nothing else.
The Ambassador program leadership has left, and so have most of the competent Ambassadors. The current ones are no better than the regular customer service line.
It seems that the Marriott leadership doesn’t appreciate the program because it has not been given the resources required.
