Hilton is in the process of opening a gigantic hotel with 1,080 rooms in Singapore that will be its flagship in the city-state.
Mandarin Orchard Singapore will go through much-needed renovation/refurbishment and will reopen as Hilton Singapore Orchard in early 2022.

Here’s an excerpt from the Straits Times (access their piece here):
Property group OUE and OUE Commercial Reit (OUE C-Reit) will spend about $90 million to rebrand Mandarin Orchard Singapore as Hilton Singapore Orchard, OUE said on Thursday (March 26).
It will be Hilton’s flagship hotel in Singapore and its largest in the Asia-Pacific.
The refurbishment is scheduled for completion by end-2021. Meanwhile, Mandarin Orchard will continue to operate under the management of Meritus Hotels & Resorts, the hotel management company under the hospitality division of OUE.
Upon its relaunch in 2022, the hotel will have 1,080 rooms and five restaurants and bars
Hilton is reopening a “ghost” hotel in Bangkok:
S$90M is roughly $63 million that is not that much considering the size of this hotel that has 1,080 rooms. It is less than $60K per key in costs (not taking into account what goes to the public spaces of the hotel).
This is the best time to do refurbishments considering the on-going pandemic that has resulted in close to empty hotels with distressed rates.
