Aegean Miles+Bonus Extends Status & Tier Qualification By Six Months

Aegean has today extended its Miles+Bonus program member tiers by six months that also applies to the qualification period due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

You now have the status effectively for 18 months, during which you need to complete the flights required to retaining or upping the tier.

You can access Aegean Miles+Bonus here.

Here’s the email that Miles+Bonus sent out:

Conclusion

Aegean Miles+Bonus is a good program for getting Star Alliance Gold status if you can take four Aegean or Olympic Air operated segments yearly.

I have been surprised how competitive their award chart is considering all the devaluations among competing programs.

Miles+Bonus doesn’t use the calendar year for qualification, but it starts from the date of your sign up, and hence they need to be more proactive with their extensions.

Six months is good, but I would argue that twelve months would have been better because it is unclear how long this coronavirus (COVID-19) is going to be around.
