On Monday, we wrote (read more here) about a question from our reader who had noted a wording change on the Hilton page for Diamond benefits.
The page showed that Diamond members are eligible for up to Executive-level accommodations while previously suites were mentioned.
You can access Hilton’s page for the updated benefits matrix here.
Here’s response we have received from the Hilton spokesperson:
The Diamond benefit room upgrade listed on the website and included in the screenshot that you sent over is a slight copy error that the team is working on updating, so thank you for bringing it to our attention.
And here’s now the updated benefits page:
The page is back to the up to 1-bedroom suite.
Diamond upgrade benefits per T&Cs:
The upgrades are subject to the hotel’s discretion.
Upgrades for Diamond Hilton Honors Members may include upgrades up to “junior”, “standard” or “one-bedroom” suites. Upgrades exclude executive suites, villas and specialty accommodations/floors/towers (which may include, but not limited to, “Vista”, “Villa”, “Club”, “Imperial,” or “Residences” accommodation types), subject to the discretion of the hotel.
Glad that this was just an oversight, and the Hilton Honors team was able to correct the wording issue promptly.
Like I wrote on my original post, I tend to have nice upgrades with higher-end Hilton brands and hotels. You do, however, sometimes need to remind and work with the room/suite upgrade at the time of checking in.
And this is also a reminder for our readers to drop us a note if they see a benefit or other changes. We can usually find out if they are real or just errors.
