IHG has updated several coronavirus (COVID-19) related policies this week that we have covered here and here.
Now, IHG Rewards Club has decided to prevent points from expiring between April 1 and the end of the year.
You can access IHG’s’s page for COVID-19 here.
Here’s the update:
For all members with points due to expire from April 1 through to the end of the year, we are extending the expiration date of points to December 31, 2020. We’ll be contacting members with more information.
The previous policy was valid for points expiring between April 1 – June 30, 2020.
Here are other IHG’s coronavirus policies:
Extending points from expiring in 2020 makes sense, but why don’t just push the validity through the end of 2021? This year will be an utter mess when it comes to travel because of all entry bans and restrictions in place.
