InterContinental Bali has quite an innovative offer trying to get some revenue in while arrivals to Indonesia are banned, and more prepaid reservations are canceled than made per IHG’s Covid-19 policy (read more here).
The hotel is selling prepaid vouchers up to 30% off that can be used towards room rate, SPA, and F&B expenses for up to a year.
You can access InterContinental Bali’s website here.
Here’s the offer:
Interestingly, the USD and IDR discounts are off. 3,000,000 IDR (30% off) is $190. The hotel room rates are in USD but converted to IDR at the time of payment. You won’t benefit anything by choosing USD over IDR beyond possible FX fluctuations.
It is not clear from this emailed offer if you can use this voucher amount towards ALL rates, including prepaid once when they become available again, or only Best Flexible.
Does the hotel just deduct the voucher amount from the folio spend when it would not be eligible for IHG Rewards Club points, or is it applied as a payment?
I am sure that some will buy these credits when you can get them at 30% off. I could, too, if I would be 100% sure that I would stay again at this hotel within the next 12 months, and the entire spend amount is eligible for IHG Rewards Club points.
