SAS Eurobonus Coronavirus Update: No Miles Expiry Extension & Star Alliance Award Suspension

A LoyaltyLobby reader sent us a note about SAS Eurobonus lacking response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Eurobonus is not extending miles expiry, and Star Alliance flight awards have been suspended indefinitely. Members can, however, get elite qualifying miles for flights not flown through May 15.

You can access SAS Eurobonus page for Covid-19 response here.

Here are the policies:

Star Alliance Awards

Status Extension

Points Expiry

Conclusion

Regrettably, SAS has decided not to extend Eurobonus points validity, considering that they have intentionally blocked members from redeeming them or partner awards.

Other airlines have simply extended member tiers by 12 months due to the coronavirus pandemic that has halted the entire air travel with no end in sight.
