American Airlines Executive Platinum Extension For World Of Hyatt Globalists

World of Hyatt and American Airlines launched reciprocal earnings and status benefits last year (read more here and here).

World of Hyatt was offering elite status fast tracks for elite AAdvantage members and vice versa. Then late last year, some World of Hyatt Globalists were offered Executive Platinum status for a year (read more here, here, and here).

American Airlines announced year-long status extensions for its elite members earlier this week (read more here) being last one of the major US legacies to do so.

I was wondering what will happen to those members who got their status via Hyatt? The message above (see the featured image) popped up on the AA app.

It is not, however, visible on the account status yet. I would imagine that AA takes it time to update it.

Conclusion

It may make sense for me to credit some partner flights into AAdvantage (those that I cannot credit to Alaska before the airline joins Oneworld) to earn the additional 120% redeemable miles bonus as an EXP.

I have no plans on setting my foot on AA flights anytime soon, so I won’t be taking away anything from members that have qualified (won’t use the system wides upgrade vouchers either).
