Avianca LifeMiles has now decided to follow many other airlines and extend elite tiers of its frequent fliers by a year through January 31, 2022, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
LifeMiles will also offer lower qualification requirements for those that plan to reach a higher status in 2020, and mileage tickets can be changed without redeposit fees through June 30, 2021. We already earlier reported about Avianca miles expiry policy change (read more here).

Conclusion
Sensibly policy from Avianca extended LifeMiles member tiers by a full year while giving those than plan to qualify for higher status (not sure how!) in 2020 easier way to do so.
Penalty-free award ticket changes make sense, too, because all airline schedules are so fluid at the moment. It is challenging to book anything that would operate as ticketed.
