Belmond, a hotel company that was taken private by LVMH, has launched a Tomorrow Time-offer for buying gift cards with a bonus.
You can get an up to 20% bonus when buying electronic or physical gift cards in USD, EUR, or GBP. The expiry date of this sale is unclear.
You can access this offer on Belmond’s website here.
Note that the maximum bonus is $200 per transaction (in USD, GBP, or EUR). If you are planning to buy more than 1,000 USD/GBP/EUR worth, make multiple purchases.
It may not make sense to purchase if the hotels where you plan to use one is not in one of the designated currencies because:
Gift cards and e-Gift Cards can be used globally. The exchange rate will be calculated as per the property exchange rate to that currency on the day when the Gift Card or e-Gift Card is redeemed.
Here’s a video of the suite I had at the Copacabana Palace:
The only Belmond hotel that I have stayed at is the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro. I booked a Bellini Club rate that came with F&B benefits and decided to extend the stay by a night (made the second reservation on Trip.com).
There are quite a few hotel deals right now, and some, like Belmond here, are also selling gift cards either with a bonus or a discount.
I would only buy one if you are definite that you will use it in the next few months. Belmond is part of LVMH, a company behind brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dom Perignon, and Rimowa.
