W Mexico City is located off Reforma Boulevard, in the trendy Polanco neighborhood. Their 237 rooms and suites, renovated in 2015, feature prominent geometric patterns, bright colors, bold art works, and psychedelic lighting. All of the new design elements were guided by a masquerade theme, so visitors see gigantic masks in the lobby and floor-to-ceiling photographs in each room that depict one of several characters (in our case, Adelita, who represents the women who participated in the Mexican revolution).
Here’s some official pictures and the property’s description of their Cool Corner Suite:
Host a small gathering in a cool corner suite’s expansive living area. Relax in front of the 32-inch plasma flat screen tv with cable channels or play music from your iPod® or iPhone® on the Bose® Bluetooth speaker system. Hydrate with complimentary bottled water or whip up your favorite concoction at the W Mixbar.
Connect via wired or wireless high-speed internet access (for a fee) at the generous work desk, which is also equipped with a jack pack and a two-line phone.
Escape to the pillow-top mattress, down or hypoallergenic duvet, and plump pillows of a king-size W Signature Bed of the separate bedroom, which has its own 52-inch plasma flat screen tv. Set the mood with multifunction bedside electronic panels and lighting controls. Energize in the standing bathtub shower with city views, complemented by dual vanities and Bliss® lemon + sage bath amenities.
Here is our video review and commentary on this suite:
Very bright colors indeed! The room highlight is probably the patterned bathtub, it’s got lots of personality! This suite sells for about $350++, which is not significantly much over the price of a regular room. It does make for a nice upgrade though!
