We are in the process of finalizing an updated IHG Hotels Master Property List for 2020, which includes 6,001 properties, and you can find it on our website tomorrow.
I thought that it would be a good time to have a look at IHG’s brand and point distributions as of May 2020. The hotel company currently has just over 6,000 hotels loaded on its booking system.
You can access IHG here.
Almost exactly half of IHG’s hotels are under Holiday Inn Express-brand that is a select service option very popular in North America.
There are 218 IHG’s (remember it stands for InterContinental Hotels Grou) under its namesake brand. The number of Regent, Hualuxe, Avid, Even, and Voco hotels is close to insignificant.
I would assume that these hotels at 12,500/17,500/22,500 points per night have been dynamically priced (read more here), and the number of points required per night floats.
IHG Buy Points
IHG Rewards Club members can buy points with a 100% bonus and an increased limit through June 15, 2020.
IHG has historically been extremely week in the luxury segment but is slowly trying to expand, having acquired Kimpton, Regent, and Six Senses brands. There is also the now delayed partnership with Mr & Mrs Smith in the making.
Let’s hope that the dynamically priced awards (read more here) won’t destroy the value when staying at these higher-end hotels.
