IHG Rewards Club announced back in early April (read more here) about an extension to its Ambassadors who saw their paid membership along with vouchers extended by three months.

Now, IHG has decided to extend the paid membership and vouchers by an additional three months to a total of six. These both are valid for members who signed up or renewed before March 15.

Here’s the updated Ambassador policy:

InterContinental Ambassador:

  • Following the complimentary three-month membership extension provided on March 15, 2020, we have extended this for a further three-months. Complimentary membership extension now totals six-months.
  • Members will also receive an additional three-month extension on unredeemed Complimentary Weekend Nights – giving members six more months to redeem these certificates.
  • Extensions are not applicable for members who enrolled or renewed after March 15, 2020.

Conclusion

It would have probably made more sense to roll the extension of these paid Ambassador-memberships by full 12 months instead of doing the first 3 months and then a month later another 3 for a total of 6.

It is still unclear what members can get out of the Ambassador-program now when most countries have entry and other bans in place, although some may start relaxing them in June?
