IHG Rewards Club Expands Variable Award Pricing

IHG announced back in 2019 that they would test variable (dynamic) award pricing in some markets (read more here), and this was implemented in Greater China earlier this year (read more here).

Now, IHG Rewards Club has expanded this outside of Greater China, including Vietnam and some US states.

IHG Rewards Club members can buy points with a 100% bonus and an increased limit through June 15, 2020.

You should check your award reservations and cancel/rebook if that yields a better point pricing for you.

Variable/dynamic award pricing could be reasonable if IHG Rewards Club keeps category maximums in place like what Hilton Honors has done. Otherwise, the prices using points will skyrocket once the business gets back to its foot.
