Alaska Airlines in May teased about opportunities the airline would launch to get members to travel again and earn bonus miles.
Mileage Plan members are now eligible for Status Boost, both flying and swiping their Alaska affiliated credit card.
You can access this offer on Alaska’s website here.
Here are the offers:
1. Status Boost
Mileage Plan members earn 50% elite qualifying miles bonus on flights marketed and operated by Alaska Airlines June 1 – December 31, 2020.
2. Swipe & Earn
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members can earn up to 10,000 bonus elite-qualifying miles for swipe activity between June 1 – September 30, 2020. You earn 2,500 elite miles for every $5,000 in charges.
Alaska Airlines is in the process of joining the Oneworld Alliance (read more here) in 2021 that makes the Mileage Plan status with alliance wide benefits more worthwhile.
Airlines and hotels are trying to get their affiliated cardholders to swipe and hence are offering bonuses for this activity. Now, they have found the ability to give elite qualifying nights and miles that don’t cost anything.
