IHG Rewards Club Credit Card Anniversary Free Night Exclusion

IHG Rewards Club introduced variable award pricing back in April for hotels in Greater China (read more here) and last month in other markets (read more here).

This has lead to a situation where members with free night certificates from affiliated credit cards are not able to use them at hotels that cost 40,000 points or less.

Note that IHG lists the hotels on its website that you cannot generally use these certificates at unless market demand or other factors allow their dynamic pricing to go below 40,000 points.

You should keep an eye on this specific page if you cannot use your credit card free night at a hotel that is at 40,000 points or less.
