Marriott Bonvoy Extends Off-Peak Award Availability For Stays Through July 31, 2020 (Book By June 30)

Marriott Bonvoy introduced Off-Peak and Peak awards when the Marriott Rewards and SPG were combined back in 2018 (read more here), but the award type itself was delayed once and was finally launched late 2019 (read more here).

Now, Marriott Bonvoy has made the Off Peak-awards available at more than 5,500 open hotels for stays through July 31, 2020, if booked by June 30. There are no Peak-dates during this booking and stay window.

Hotel rates are quite reasonable right now in many markets and perhaps not the best time to use points, although the award availability, for once, is excellent. It would have been better if Marriott Bonvoy had made all hotels available at PointSavers rate!

I am trying to burn this summer the last three 7-night award certs that I have left from the SPG/Marriott merger madness and which have already been extended once or twice (finally they all expire in January 2021). I managed to burn one last week (had a total eight to begin with).

The seasonal award pricing was getting out of control, as we covered last month (read more here).
