Marriott International yesterday published a video from its CEO Arne Sorenson (read more here), and a written release issued to go with it stated that ALL guests are required to wear face-covering in its hotels effective July 27, 2020.

We have now received clarification from Marriott that this “ALL” applies to hotels in the United States and Canada.

Here’s the release:

Following American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA)’s “Safe Stay Guest Checklist” announcement last week, Marriott International will require all guests to wear a face covering in its hotels effective July 27.

ALL = United States & Canada.

Conclusion

I believe that those readers who haven’t used face coverings or masks yet and live in the markets where they are not required should try them out in a case that you need them later (possible second/third waves of COVID-19).

Wearing a mask is probably one of the easiest ways to reduce the spread of COVID-19, help us to get through this pandemic sooner, and reduce the unnecessary deaths.
