Hilton Mask Requirement In The United States Effective July 28, 2020

Hilton has now finally decided to follow what Marriott (read more here), Hyatt (read more here), and IHG (read more here) have already announced.

Hilton will require all guests to wear a face mask when indoor at their hotels in the United States effective next Tuesday (July 28, 2020).

Note that I have tried to get clarification from Hilton if this face mask requirement also applies to hotels in Canada.

Here’s the announcement from Hilton:

As the safety of our guests and Team Members, remains our highest priority, and in alignment with the American Housing and Lodging Association (AHLA) recommendation and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines—beginning Tuesday, July 28, Hilton will require all individuals in indoor public spaces at all U.S. Hilton properties to wear face coverings. If guests do not have their own face coverings, hotels are required to provide one to them, free of charge. Further, this new standard is the base standard, and all U.S. hotels must comply with any more restrictive local laws, rules, regulations or recommendations.

Not sure if there are many chain properties left in the United States that would allow from next week guests with mask “allergies” to stay at? It looks like a reasonable policy that most airlines and hotels in the United States are in the process of introducing.
