American Airlines Double Million Miler Qualifying Miles August 3 – December 31, 2020

American Airlines has a new offer available for select AAdvantage members who can earn double Million Miler qualifying miles on travel through the end of 2020.

Eligible members must register by August 24, 2020, and book the flights after completing this step.

American Airlines used to be very generous what counted towards Million Miler status. All the deposited miles into your account were eligible; flown miles, bonus miles, credit card miles, conversions from partner programs, etc. Now, only the actual flight miles count outside of the promotions.

It is difficult to take full advantage of an offer such as this when most of the long-haul flights have been canceled, or you are not allowed to enter.

I am slowly inching towards 3M with AA, of which most were deposits from Marriott Rewards back in the day when Travel Packages were the best way to use their points, they counted towards Million Miler status, and you could have 120,000 airline miles with each redemption.
