Mr & Mrs Smith is a collection of loosely affiliated hotels, and some are also part of Small Luxury Hotels of World (SLH) and World of Hyatt.
IHG announced back in September 2019 (read more here) about a partnership that would integrate part of the Mr & Mrs Smith’s hotel portfolio into IHG Rewards Club in early 2020, which has now long gone.
You can access IHG’s page for Mr & Mrs Smith here.
Some Mr & Mrs Smith affiliated hotels started to appear on IHG search already back in January (read more here), but we are now are already past mid-August.
I as in touch with the IHG spokesperson, who replied that the partnership launch is delayed due to the Covid-19, and they hope to launch it later this year. No definite date was given.
Not sure how well Mr & Mrs Smith has been able to handle the current challenging trading and hospitality environment, and if there are hotels that have decided that being part of this soft brand is not worth the hassle?
Many Mr & Mrs Smith affiliated hotels are already cheaper available through other channels. If Hyatt’s deal with SLH and Marriott with Design Hotels, which it mostly owns, is of any indication, expect very little in terms of elite benefits beyond earning points and elite qualifying nights.
There are some exciting and unique hotels part of Mr & Mrs Smith, and it would hurt less (some of these are $$$) if you could earn some IHG Rewards Club points in the process.
