Bangkok Airways FlyerBonus has published a new promotion offering their Premier Plus Members and KTC-BANGKOK AIRWAYS credit cardholders a two for one redemption option, all while the mileage requirement has also been reduced by 50%.
The travel period for tickets booked under this promotion is until 30 June 2021 but the bookings have to the completed depending on membership status between September 1 – September 30, 2020.
Bangkok Airways has gradually put their domestic fleet back into action and is currently the main carrier for flights within Thailand while flag carrier Thai Airways still has their mainline fleet grounded.
They also reopened their lounges in Bangkok and Samui for passenger use prior to the flight.

As you can see this chart includes international destinations that aren’t being served currently but might be available again sometime in 2021. The bookings under this promotion can be made until the summer/fall of next year so at least in theory it’s possible to profit from huge discounts even for destinations such as the Maldives.
Conclusion
It’s a good promotion first and foremost for those travelers currently in Thailand who can utilize their mileage balance for domestic trips.
At the moment it’s hard to say if it makes much sense to book international travel for 2021 but when it comes to mileage bookings there is very little to no risk involved. In the worst case just cancel and get your miles back.
