Hyatt today announced its next global promotion called Bonus Journeys that is valid for stays October 1 – January 4, 2021.
World of Hyatt members earn triple points while affiliated credit cardholders get quadruple. Also, Hyatt is following Hilton Honors by rolling over nights consumed between October 1 – December 31 in 2020 to 2021.
You can access the World of Hyatt here (note that the registration link is not up yet).
World of Hyatt has also decided to extend the award rebate of 15% or 25% for credit cardholders through January 4, 2021.
Parking, which is only essential in the United States, is included in all award until January 4, 2021 (usually only Globalist benefit).
Why no Milestone Rewards past 100 nights?
Hyatt most recently has had quite a gap between its promotions, but desperate times call for desperate measures. It wouldn’t surprise me if they soon launch a status match offer from competing programs like what Marriott Bonvoy just did (read more here).
The rollover nights is a nice benefit for those who have trouble qualifying with World of Hyatt.
It is unfortunate that Hyatt, unlike Hilton Honors, doesn’t reward those that stay more than 100 nights per year as that is the night cap for milestone rewards.
I am already at 101 qualifying nights with Hyatt this year (all paid or awards), and it doesn’t make any sense to stay more due to lack of extra rewards. I try to put most nights between now and the end of 2020 into Hilton Honors for their Double Rewards (read more here) offer.
