Hyatt Extends Mandatory Face Covering Requirement To All Hotels Globally

Hyatt announced back in July that it would follow the AHLA’s Guest Checklist and require all guests to wear a face mask in the United States and Canada, and extended the policy to the entire Americas in early August.

Now, Hyatt is extending this requirement to all hotels globally effective September 15, 2020. There can be exceptions in some markets due to government policies.

Here’s the update:

IMPORTANT FACE MASK & COVERING UPDATE: Following medical expert guidance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, face masks or coverings are required in hotel indoor public areas and when moving around in outdoor areas at all Hyatt hotels globally, with some exceptions, based on local laws or guidance. For specific requirements, please contact the hotel directly or visit the hotel website.

Conclusion

Interesting that Hyatt is now extending this policy to hotels worldwide, while it has already been either a mandate or policy in many countries, especially in Europe and Asia. Better late than never, I guess.
