Many hotels have launched promotions for discounted stays due to the on-going Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the hospitality sector hard.
There was a deal from Nordic Choice this summer for an unlimited number of nights for a set fee, and now Anantara has launched a deal for the Maldives.
You can access this offer on Anantara’s website here.
Anantara Veli Maldives is now selling its overwater bungalow for essentially a year for a set fee of $30,000 that includes tax and service fees. It includes breakfast for two daily and complimentary transfers between the island and Male (good for stocking up).
You can stay January 1 – December 23, 2021, and book and pay this offer by November 30.
Here’s how Anatara Veli describes this offer:
Return to your Maldivian Over Water Bungalow as often as you please and soak up the turquoise lagoon, magical sunsets and the tropical beauty. Laze on your sun deck as colourful fish swim in the crystal-clear waters below. Elevate working from home to a new level, or up sticks and escape to sunnier climes to enjoy some R&R whenever the fancy takes. The exclusive ‘Unlimited Stays’ offer at Anantara Veli opens the door to complete flexibility so you and your loved one can come and go from a Maldivian paradise whenever the desire takes you.
Exclusive benefits include:
- Luxury accommodation in an Over Water Bungalow
- Daily breakfast for two persons
- Shared return transfers between Anantara Veli and Malé as often as required
- 25% savings on dining and spa
The Unlimited Stays offer is available for a brief time only – book until 30 November 2020.
The package is priced at USD 30,000 inclusive of all taxes and service charges.
It seems that these overwater bungalows go for $500++ per night.
The trek to Male will take some time because the hotel is probably 30 to 40 kilometers out (based on a look at the map).
The per-night price is right (roughly $100), but who would like to stay in an overwater bungalow for a year even when you have unlimited transfers to the capital of Maldives – Male?
The included breakfast is likely excellent (lunch replacement) and can be had quite late so that you don’t need lunch. Unless you bring your own food on your frequent trips to Male, you must budget at least $200 for daily dinner for two without alcohol.
I could buy an unlimited pass that includes more Anantara destinations for a year, but certainly not for just one property (I would be bored to death).
It is good to see that some hotels try to be innovative in ways they bring revenue in, and this can work for those that really like the Maldives and prefer staying in a resort for an extended period of time.
