Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer 15-20% Bonus For Credit Card Points Transfers Through December 27, 2020

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer has opened a new campaign, giving between 15-20% Bonus for incoming transfers from various banks credit card points until December 27, 2020.

The promotion requires a minimum of 10,000 miles to be moved to KrisFlyer in the period until end of December in order to get the bonus amount credited with customers in Brunei, Hong Kong and Indonesia getting an additional 5%.

It’s relatively rare to see promotions to move points to KrisFlyer and if this is something that interests you while having a decent amount of balance with various credit cards then it might be a decent option.

Singapore Airlines and their KrisFlyer program don’t really have much business right now and selling miles to banks is their only way to get cash in.

A global transfer promotion certainly helps to entice people to move around their points a little.

Moving rather flexible credit card points to a frequent flyer program where miles are pretty much tied up doesn’t come without danger. Frequent Flyer Programs can always adjust their award charts, limit availability or in the worst case they can also go bust.

Do I expect KrisFlyer to disappear? Not really. But they could adjust their pricing and also limit what flights are bookable with the miles in the account.

Conclusion

I’d only move points around if the bonus is sufficient enough to mitigate possible price adjustments that come in the near future. Programs that have so far been very generous might feel inclined to push up their prices.

Considering the very limited use and availability of international flights at the moment I wouldn’t expect being able to use these miles in the months to come. At least not on Singapore Airlines, maybe for a Star Alliance partner which might or might not have availability through SIA’s system.

These Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs“) govern the campaign (“Campaign“), organised by Singapore Airlines Limited (“SIA“), enables KrisFlyer members to earn up to 20% bonus KrisFlyer miles (“Bonus KrisFlyer miles“) and Kris+ users to earn 15% bonus KrisPay miles (“Bonus KrisPay miles“) when they convert their bank reward points (“Bank Reward Points“) with any participating bank to KrisFlyer miles or KrisPay miles respectively. This Campaign commences on 16th November 2020, 0000hrs (GMT+8) and ends 27th December 2020, 2359hrs (GMT+8) (“Campaign Period“).

Bonus KrisFlyer miles

This Campaign is open to all KrisFlyer members who are customers of participating banks and have Bank Reward Points.

A KrisFlyer member will earn Bonus KrisFlyer Miles if he or she converts his or her Bank Reward Points from a participating bank into at least 10,000 KrisFlyer miles in a single transaction (“Qualifying Transaction“).

The Bonus KrisFlyer miles awarded will be either 15% or 20% of the number of KrisFlyer miles converted in a Qualifying Transaction, depending on the participating bank. A list of participating banks and the applicable Bonus KrisFlyer miles percentages is set forth in the Appendix to these T&Cs.

There is no maximum number of Bonus KrisFlyer miles that a KrisFlyer member can earn by participating in this Campaign.

The Bonus KrisFlyer miles will be calculated on a per Qualifying Transaction basis and not on the cumulative sum of KrisFlyer miles converted during the Campaign Period.

Converted KrisFlyer miles and Bonus KrisFlyer miles will be credited to a KrisFlyer member’s KrisFlyer account as per the applicable participating bank’s conversion timeframes specified in such bank’s terms and conditions.

The conversion of Bank Reward Points to KrisFlyer miles is subject to the terms and conditions set forth by the participating bank. KrisFlyer members will be responsible for any related fees for conversion of Bank Reward Points to KrisFlyer miles, as may be levied by the participating banks, respectively.

All KrisFlyer miles or Bonus KrisFlyer miles awarded in accordance with this Campaign will be valid for three (3) years from the date on which they are credited into the recipient’s KrisFlyer account and no extensions of validity will be permitted. For the avoidance of doubt, the KrisFlyer miles awarded which have not been used by the end of such validity period will expire and shall be deemed null and void.

Should there be any refunds or reversal of any Qualifying Transaction that results in the accrual of Bonus KrisFlyer miles under this Campaign, SIA will reverse the Bonus KrisFlyer miles awarded in respect of the refunded or reversed Qualifying Transaction.

Bonus KrisPay miles

This Campaign is open to all Kris+ users who are customers of participating banks and have Bank Reward Points.

A Kris+ user will earn Bonus KrisPay miles if he or she converts his or her Bank Reward Points from a participating bank into KrisPay miles.

The Bonus KrisPay miles awared will be 15% of the number of KrisPay miles converted in a transaction. A list of participating banks is set forth in the Appendix to these T&Cs.

The number of KrisPay miles that must be converted by a Kris+ user in a particular transaction to earn Bonus KrisPay miles is subject to a minimum amount specified by the relevant participating bank.

There is no maximum number of Bonus KrisPay miles that a Kris+ user can earn by participating in this Campaign.

Converted KrisPay miles and Bonus KrisPay miles, will be credited to a Kris+ user’s KrisPay account instantly.

The conversion of Bank Reward Points to KrisPay miles is subject to the terms and conditions set forth by the participating bank.

All KrisPay miles and Bonus KrisPay miles awarded in accordance with this Campaign will be valid for six (6) months from the date on which they are credited into the recipient’s KrisPay account and no extensions of validity will be permitted. For the avoidance of doubt, any KrisPay miles awarded which have not been used by the end of such validity period will expire and shall be deemed null and void.

All KrisPay miles and Bonus KrisPay miles awarded in accordance with this Campaign can be transferred in full to the participant’s KrisFlyer account within seven (7) days of crediting.

Should there be any refunds or reversal of any transaction that results in the accrual of Bonus KrisPay miles under this Campaign, SIA will reverse the Bonus KrisPay miles awarded in respect of the refunded or reversed transaction.

General

All decisions made by SIA in respect to any matter relating to this Campaign shall be final. SIA reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions, terminate or otherwise amend this Campaign without prior notice at its sole and absolute discretion. SIA reserves the right to verify the eligibility of participating KrisFlyer members.

All KrisFlyer Miles and Bonus KrisFlyer Miles awarded under this Campaign will be subject to the KrisFlyer Terms & Conditions at (https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/ppsclub_krisflyer/termsconditions-kf/).

All KrisPay Miles and Bonus KrisPay Miles awarded under this Campaign will be subject to the Kris+ Terms & Conditions at (https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/sg/ppsclub-krisflyer/use-miles/krispay/).

Individuals are only permitted to hold one KrisFlyer membership account. Any fraudulent or duplicate KrisFlyer accounts, including the original KrisFlyer account held by such individuals will be suspended and disqualified from the Campaign.

By participating in the Campaign, each participant agrees that any and all personal data he/she submits (including his/her name, KrisFlyer membership number, and email address) may be collected, used, disclosed, or otherwise processed (collectively, “Processed”) by SIA. All collection, use and disclosure of participant’s personal data will be in accordance with SIA’s Privacy Policy (available online at https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/privacy-policy/).

SIA will not be responsible for any consequences that any participant may suffer (including without limitation any damage, loss, injury or disappointment), or that results in an infringement of any law or regulation, by participating in the Campaign.

By participating in the Campaign, each participant agrees to comply with and be bound by these T&Cs, Singapore Airlines, and conditions of carriage, SIA’s Privacy Policy and KrisFlyer Terms and Conditions (collectively, “SIA Terms & Conditions”). Non-compliance with or breach of any of these SIA Terms and Conditions may result in the KrisFlyer member being disqualified at any stage of the Campaign.
