Reader Question: Where’s The 5,000 Third Stay Marriott Bonvoy Bonus?

Several readers have sent us questions regarding the Marriott Bonvoy global promotion that ended on November 10th and the 3rd stay bonus of 5,000 points that appears to have been posted to nobody.

Remember to send us your questions and comments by email, and FacebookTwitter, or Instagram. We’ll try to cover them here several times a week.

You can access Marriott Bonvoy here.

Here’s the question from a reader:

Due to Marriott promotion

“Get 2,500 bonus points on each stay, plus a one-time bonus of 5,000 additional points after three stays”

I have question about one time 5000 point, Did you get it?

Marriott Bonvoy launched its most recent global bonus points offer in August that was supposed to end mid-October but was extended until November 10.

The 2,500 bonus points for each stay consumed during the promotional period posted correctly with the stay, but the 5,000 points extra for the third one have not.

Nobody has received the third stay bonus yet. The promo T&Cs state that it may take up to six weeks after the offer ends for the bonuses to post. You should get them by the end of 2020.

Bonus points will be awarded to the member’s account up to 6 weeks after the promotion ends.

Marriott’s problem is that they don’t break down the points earned from stays beyond base points, elite bonus, and other bonuses.

Marriott Bonvoy really should fix the posting of points and provide a clear breakdown. You may be eligible for several bonuses, and knowing what has and has not posted is close to impossible.

SPG was able to do this, and I am sure that Marriott could do too if they wanted.

Surely, there are millions of points not credited to member accounts correctly every year, and trying to track them is close to impossible for us right now.

I am also sure that posting these 5,000 bonus points with the third stay would have resulted in thousands of fewer phone calls and queries from members about their stays.
