It is always nice when you earn many points for your stay, even when some of those should be prorated.
I had my 60th Hilton night (some doubled) this past Sunday and the stay posted on Tuesday to my account with 43,202 points!
You can access Hilton Honors here.
The reason for 40,000 points?
Hilton launched rollover bonuses to incentivize Honors members to spend nights with the chain. You earn 10,000 bonus points for every 10 consumed nights; awards count, too, starting at 40 nights in a calendar year.
You get an additional bonus of 30,000 points at 60 nights bringing the total bonus at that hurdle (10K + 30K) to 40,000 points.
The milestone bonuses in 2021 start at 20 instead of 40 nights, and you receive the additional 30K bonus at 60.
I always prorate these milestone bonuses, which means that I earn an additional 1,000 bonus points each night I spent at Hilton affiliated hotels (just a bit shy because unlikely ever to hit exactly the number of nights that would trigger one).
During the current promotion, you earn 2 nights each night you stay, meaning the additional bonus is 2,000 points per night, and all these are posting correctly.
