Here’s the question from the reader:
I registered at the designated website for new member 2 stays to get 25000 points. But once I completed my 2 stays it showed 0 point, do you have an idea what I’d do?
There’s undoubtedly confusion about how Marriott shows when a certificate has been deposited to a member account. I can show the value a 0 and “Canceled,” but the certificate itself is alive and well.
You need to log into your account and then choose “Activity.” Here’s it also shows the 75 Night Choice Benefit-certificate with 0 value and canceled.
You need to expand the earned awards where all the certificates are shown, like the 40K points one.
The Android app shows the Suite Night Awards but not the 40K cert.
But the cert is visible on the website.
The app shows the Suite Nights Awards, and there is a separate tab for “Certificates.”
That shows the outstanding two certs.

The way Marriott deposits various certs to member accounts is very confusing. Why show them with 0 value and canceled?
I would assume that Marriott uses some legacy and outdated systems for managing its loyalty program, and this is the best they were able to come up with. When Marriott purchased Starwood (yes – theoretically a merger), they chose Marriott’s legacy system over a more modern solution that SPG was using.
