IHG Hotels and Mr & Mrs Smith introduced a partnership back in September 2019 that should have made hotels bookable on IHG’s platform in early 2020, but there was a delay with integration, and the introduction was delayed until October.
IHG has rolled out more Mr & Mrs Smith hotels on their platform that are available using either cash or points (many cash only). IHG intends to eventually have more than 400 Mr & Mrs Smith hotels available on its website.

Note that quite a few of the Mr & Mrs Smith hotels that appear on IHG’s search are not available for point bookings even when the point value may appear on the initial search. Once you click through, only paid rates are available.
You won’t get outsized value of IHG points by redeeming them for Mr & Mrs Smith because their awards are all dynamically priced, valuing points roughly at a half of a cent each.
Few things to note:
- Award pricing will be dynamic – roughly 200 points per USD required (point value half of a cent)
- Members will earn the usual number of points, including the elite bonus for Mr & Mrs Smith stays
- Mr & Mrs Smith doesn’t participate in IHG’s loyalty promotions (double, triple, etc. points)
- The Mr & Mrs Smith pricing is the same as on their website (OTA or direct hotel pricing could be different)
- Ambassador and Kimpton Inner Circle members are eligible for a room upgrade and GoldSmith welcome gift
- Award nights must be canceled a minimum of 30 days before the intended stay
- Credit card free night or fourth night free benefits don’t apply for Mr & Mrs Smith hotels

You will likely find much better discounted rates by booking these independent properties directly with the hotel or through an OTA than via IHG or even Mr & Mrs Smith that are just distribution channels to them. You will only forgo earning IHG Rewards Club points and enjoying limited loyalty benefits.
