IHG Hotels offer discounts to Travel Agents and/or Consultants (sometimes called Travel Industry Professionals). These rates are deeply discounted but often neither widely available nor qualifying for elite benefits or points.
IHG made these rates eligible (unlike all other hotel programs that I know) for stay credits and points several years ago. They are also qualifying for all promotions that IHG Rewards Club has.

The discount that is offered varies from hotel to hotel and maxes at 40% off. The lowest discount that I have seen is 9%. Not all the hotels have availability at this rate plan all the time.
You must choose the “Travel Consultant Discount rate” from the dropdown menu,.
Rooms and suites that have this rate plan available show the “TVL CONSULTANT DISC available” disclaimer.
Note that the ID requirements are strict. You should not book this rate unless you have either a valid IATA ID or a Travel Agent ID card.
You must book the rate minimum of one day in advance. The cancellation and/or prepay requirements are set by hotels. You should always check them before making the booking.
The rate for a Standard Room:
I have used this rate plan a few times over the years and have always received the benefits of my IHG Rewards Club Ambassador or elite status along with the points/stay credits.
You should not book it unless you have the required documentation to qualify for it.
Marriott’s travel agent rate is a lot lower but, unfortunately, not qualifying for elite benefits or points. I do like the fact that this IHG Agent Rate is.
The rate plan has been difficult to book because the link on the IHG’s site has been broken, and they made further updates to the booking engine at the end of 2020.
