The Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro opened in the upscale Barra de Tijuca neighbourhood in time for the 2016 Olympic Games. This beachfront property offers 436 guestrooms, including 40 suites, two Presidential Suites, and one Penthouse Suite. All the interiors are signed by New York-based design firm Yabu Pushelberg, responsible also for the Park Hyatt New York and Park Hyatt Bangkok.
Here’s some official pictures and the property’s description of their Ocean View Suite:
Relax in this elegant 753 sq feet suite with private balcony, walk-in closet, work desk, wide bathroom with separate immersing bathtub and shower and ocean front view. Enjoy the access to the Grand Club, executive floor, with daily cocktail service and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages included.
Here is our video review and commentary on this suite:
This property is a Cat 3 in World of Hyatt, with base rooms selling from 12,000 points/$100++ per night. This particular suite is selling for $160++ for the spring, relatively inexpensive, probably due to the hit Rio hotels are taking due to the lack of tourism.
