Hyatt is adding an exciting property into its Alila-portfolio in California’s Napa Valley that previously was affiliated with Marriott’s Luxury Collection (leftover from the Starwood times)
In St Helena, Alila Napa Valley is a small 68-room adult-only property surrounded by vineyards set to open in March 2021 (can always be delayed).

What makes this interesting is that there is one Las Alcobas still under Marriott’s Luxury Collection in Mexico City. Is that one going to be converted to Alila or some other Hyatt brand?
Conclusion
It was inevitable that there would be a departure of former Starwood affiliated hotels that wouldn’t be the right fit for the more mass-market company that acquired it (I know – officially a merger). ,
I am glad that the Las Alcobas in Napa has decided to affiliate itself with Hyatt’s Alila brand that is not well known outside of Asia.
Let’s see what happens to their Mexico City property.
