Marriott Bonvoy Status Match Has Ended

Marriott Bonvoy reintroduced a status match program from competing hoteliers back in August 2020 that has now ended.

Elite members from Hilton Honors, IHG Rewards Club, and Accor Live Limitless could have their status first matched for 90 days, during which they needed to complete a certain number of nights (usually 15) to keep the Platinum status until 2022.

You can access Marriott’s page, for now, ended match here.

People were very eager to sign up for the match because Marriott had not offered one for a while (higher status upfront):

It was quite clear from the beginning that this Marriott Bonvoy status match would only be open for a limited time and not become (again) a permanent feature of the program.

However, I would not be surprised if they reintroduce it for a shorter period later in the year. It is a very efficient way to poach elite members from competing programs.
