And finally, on Friday, I received a targeted offer for up to 18,000 Marriott Bonvoy points for three weekend stays. The problem was that I could not register for it then (read more here). The issue has now been resolved.

I am still baffled how Marriott was not able to time the email going out and the targeted offer loaded to member accounts?
How many tens of thousands of members were frustrated not being able to register, and perhaps won’t try again, and stay with competitors with offers without registration issues?
I am glad, however, that the issue has been resolved now. It opens up, however, questions about the competency of Marriott’s loyalty team.
