Gulf Air, the “original” Gulf-airline based in Bahrain, has decided to launch initiatives to help its Falconflyer frequent flier program members.
Miles expiring between February 2020 and June 30, 2021, will be extended for an additional year and tiers by one or two years, depending on the level.
You can access Gulf Air here.
Here’s the announcement from the airline:
Reinstatement of Miles and Loyalty Points and Tiers until 30 June
We understand the difficulty of completing any planned travel during the current situation and we want to welcome you on-board whenever you are ready.
Any miles expired or due to expire between February 2020 and 30 June 2021 will be reinstated for an additional year.
Loyalty points and tiers expiring on or before 30 June 2021 will also be extended; Blue and Silver for one year, Black and Gold for two years.
Conclusion
It is difficult to believe that Gulf Air used to be THE airline of the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman (each owned quarter of it), but it is now much smaller than Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways (not sure about the Oman Air).
I am glad that the airline has decided to extend member tiers and waive miles expiry.
