Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Companion Pass For Opening Affiliated Card & Spending $5K In 3 Months

Southwest Airlines emailed me a new offer this morning to get a Companion Pass through February 28, 2022, and 30,000 Rapid Rewards points.

There is obviously a catch, and here you are required to open a Southwest Airlines credit card from Chase and spend $5K within 3 months of account opening.

You can access the Southwest Rapid Rewards website here.

Conclusion

In recent years, Southwest Airlines has run quite a few promotions for earning a Companion Pass for various activities such as flying few flights within select markets, or today getting a credit card and then spending some cash.

Companion Pass allows two to fly with the price of one (only actual taxes are added). There is a limit to how many times you can switch your companion yearly (no unlimited changes). It is the best fit for a couple that tends to travel together in between markets that Southwest Airlines serves.

The Companion Pass earned from this offer is valid through February 28, 2022. It will take some time to get the card, do the required spending and then get the Rapid Rewards to update the status. You won’t get the full 12 months benefit. Perhaps 10 under the best-case scenario.

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:
