For the first time in few months, I decided to have a look at my British Airways Executive Club-account only to realize that my Gold Guest List (GGL) qualification period is about to end!
BA doesn’t use a calendar year for qualification purposes, but it is instead tied to your sign-up date, and my year ends in two weeks with ZERO Tier Points.
You can access BA’s Executive Club here.
BA tried to get members to fly, when it was mostly allowed, by reducing qualification from 3,000 to 2,250.
They did, however, extend the status, and mine expires on April 30, 2022. I have no flights booked with BA, so I doubt that there will be many TP collected by that date.
By the end of 2021, I would have “achieved” 35,000 Tier Points that would have granted me a lifetime Gold (Oneworld Emerald) on BA’s program, but that is now few years out, depending on how travel restrictions are eventually lifted.
I see BA further reducing qualification requirements for the next membership year or merely rolling the status by an additional year like they already did once.
They just extended the expiring voucher by another six months.
