Southwest Airlines ended its policy of free middle seats back in December but promised to get back to passengers whose flights were more than 65% full (some middle seats would be in use).
A LoyaltyLobby reader forwarded us an email that Southwest had sent informing them about a flight to Las Vegas that exceeded the threshold and offered free rebooking between the same origin and destination within three days of the departure.
You can access Southwest Airlines here.
Here’s the mail that a reader forwarded to us from Southwest:
Delta Air Lines is currently the only US airline guaranteeing a free middle seat until the end of April 2021.
Some of these flights can be full due to fewer frequencies and an increase in the number of people traveling domestically.
It is good that Southwest gives an option to passengers who may feel uncomfortable to fly in a full plane to have their trip rebooked.
