Alaska Airlines Now Oneworld Alliance Member

Alaska Airlines today joined Oneworld as a full member. American Airlines sponsored Alaska into the alliance.

Mileage Plan members can from today earn miles on another alliance member airlines and vice versa. You can later redeem Mileage Plan member miles with Oneworld airlines who were not previously partners.

Partner Airlines

There are white spots on the partner airlines where they will insert the Oneworld partners missing.

The pages are already live, and you can guess them by modifying the URL.

Alaska Airlines already had a partnership with several Oneworld Alliance airlines, including Cathay Pacific, Qantas, and Finnair. Let’s hope that the associations with non-Oneworld airlines stay in place.

Also, Alaska has communicated that you can redeem Mileage Plan miles on all alliance airlines later in the summer (these are often delayed with Alaska when partners are launched).

Alaska Airlines helps Oneworld reach some blindspots on the west coast and Alaska that American Airlines has not served well. Their international presence is limited, and they only fly on single-aisle aircraft.
