IHG Rewards in late 2020 introduced Milestone Bonuses for stays in 2021 (read more here) that allows select members to earn bonuses throughout 2021.
We published a piece the other week (read more here) when the offer had been loaded to more members, but apparently, this was done in a mistake and is now removed.

I contacted the Ambassador service center and received incoherent replies about what had happened:

But don’t worry , John! Rest assured that you are among our most valued members and this campaign is one of many private, targeted offers that IHG Rewards runs. It is very possible, albe it not guaranteed, that you will be targeted with a unique offer in the future.
I would love to sign you up for the 10k Milestone Bonus however this is only for targeted guests whom our system detect and are automatically enrolled. No manual enrollment for this and only eligible members have pre-registered for this promotion.
Here’s the statement we received from the IHG spokesperson:
We are aware of an issue some IHG Rewards members may have encountered regarding our Milestone Bonus offer. A message was made available in error to select IHG Rewards members who are not eligible to receive this offer.
We apologize for this error and are working quickly to resolve the issue with any members who mistakenly received this communication.

I thought that I had seen it all with IHG Rewards.
It is one thing not to earn bonus points for an offer that you find on the internet, but an offer that IHG Rewards first extends to your account and then removes due to an “error,” hoping that you didn’t notice it at all.
The right thing would be to reenroll members to whom it was extended, but do you believe that this is what IHG does?
