IHG Hotels acquired Six Sense for $300M back in February 2019 (read more here), and it has taken two years to integrate the brand into IHG Rewards
There are six Six Sense hotels that are IHG Rewards participating today with select Ambassador, Royal Ambassador, and Kimpton Inner Circle benefits. You can redeem points for stays at these hotels from April 27.
You can access IHG’s page for Six Senses here.
Here are the participating hotels:
- Six Senses Yao Noi, Thailand
- Six Senses Laamu, Maldives
- Six Senses Botanique, Brazil
- Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, Vietnam
- Six Senses Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia
- Six Senses Fiji, Fiji.
At least the Uluwatu property has reasonable availability.
IHG Rewards is brought to life in a very special way at Six Senses, so some IHG Rewards benefits may differ or not apply at Six Senses. The size and service delivery at Six Senses means that alternatives which are tailored to reflect the brand’s focus on wellness or the particular hotel’s experience. For example, the Welcome Amenity for Elite members will be a Wellness Platter which will be placed in their guest room. Some other benefits, like the priority check-in, member-exclusive rate and the 72 hours room availability, will not be applicable.
IHG Reward Night redemption and pricing
IHG Rewards nights can be redeemed at Six Senses hotels based on availability, in the same manner as redemption across existing IHG hotels. This is tied to rooms availability, current rates and will utilize dynamic pricing, meaning the number of points required will change in the same manner as cash rates do. For a multi-night stay, you will now see an average point amount and daily point amounts just like cash bookings. Once a booking is made, that member will lock in the required point amount. While the hotel’s point requirement could go up or down post booking, this will not affect the member’s original booking.
Cancellation and refund policy
Due to their unique location, size and regional travel policies, each hotel has a specific cancellation policy and on new bookings for stays from April 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021, flexible cancellation policies may vary. We advise consulting their website for the latest before making any bookings or contacting our Reservations teams for advice. If a member cancels a Reward Night reservation at Six Senses after the cancellation window has passed or they are a no-show, none of the IHG Rewards Points redeemed for their booking will be returned to the member.
