Choice Hotels has a Choice Privileges guest loyalty program with three elite tier levels of Gold, Platinum, and Diamond with variable benefits.

You probably know Choice Hotels from their budget brands such as Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, and EconoLodge, among others, although they have introduced higher ends ones such as Cambria.

Choice Privileges offers two matches; general one for up to Platinum, and Cambria specific one that is up to Diamond status but requires at least one stay at this particular brand

Note that the best time to match is from July 1st because then the status is valid throughout the following year.

Conclusion

Choice mostly manages lower-end hotels but tries to break into the upper midscale segment on its Cambria brand. There are close to never-ending bonus points promotions from Choice Privileges.

Here are the terms and conditions of Choice Privileges status match:

* The Elite Status Match offer is valid for existing Choice Privileges® members in the United States, Canada and Europe only. Member must provide their name and Choice Privileges member number in the request and provide at least one (1) of the following: i) a copy/photo of your membership card (showing expiration date) with another hotel loyalty program, or ii) a copy/screenshot of your current account statement with another hotel loyalty program to Status_Match@choicehotels.com (for United States and Canadian members) or Status_Match_EU@choicehotels.com (for European members). The highest elite status that will be awarded under the Elite Status Match Program is Elite Platinum level. One Elite Status Match per member per lifetime. The Elite Status Match is valid for the current year only if the status is matched anytime between January – June. The Elite Status Match is valid for the current and following year only if the status is matched anytime between July – December. After that time, you must qualify for the Elite level status each calendar year.

1 Qualifying Stays: most stays at Choice Hotels properties are qualifying stays, EXCEPT: rooms booked at rates below $40 USD per night; certain hotel-initiated promotions; reward night stays, complimentary rooms, rooms paid for as part of a convention or meeting, rooms booked through a travel agent or third party online retailer including online travel agencies, wholesale packages, group tours, and stays booked using the employee discount or the friends, family and associate discount.

2 Welcome Gifts: Available to all Choice Privileges Elite members (Gold, Platinum, Diamond) completing a point-earning stay at a Choice Hotels property within the United States or Canada, with the exception of Cambria hotels. Member may choose either: i) a complimentary property gift provided at check-in (“Property Gift”); or ii) bonus Choice Privileges points to be deposited into member’s account (“Bonus Points”). The Property Gift and amount of Bonus Points awarded will vary by brand and property location. Choice Privileges Elite members (Gold, Platinum, Diamond) completing a point earning stay at a Cambria Hotels property located in the United States, will receive 250 bonus Choice Privileges points (“bonus points”) to be deposited into Member’s account. Points may take up to four weeks to post to member’s account after stay is completed. A “stay” is defined as any number of consecutive nights at one hotel regardless of check-ins or check-outs. Only one member per stay will receive either the Property Gift or Bonus Points, regardless of the number of rooms on the reservation or number of reservations booked by member at the same property for the same dates. Members completing a non-point earning stay, such as a reward night, will not receive Bonus Points; however, a Property Gift may be given at the property’s discretion. Here are the terms and conditions of the Cambria match:

1 Diamond Elite Status Jump: The Diamond Elite Status Jump is available to US, Canadian and European Choice Privileges members only who have completed a qualifying stay (see below) at a Cambria® hotel. To qualify for Diamond Elite Status Jump, you: (1) must be a Choice Privileges member (there is no cost to join); and (2) send an email to Status_Match@choicehotels.com (for United States and Canadian members) or Status_Match_EU@choicehotels.com (for European Members) with the following information with the following information: (a) your Choice Privileges number, (b) either a copy/photo of your membership card (showing expiration date) or a copy/screenshot of your current account statement, showing your elite status with another major hotel loyalty program, and (c) a copy/screenshot of your Cambria folio/receipt for a stay completed within the last 12 months. The Diamond Elite status is valid for the current year only if the Cambria qualifying stay and/or your request is between January – June, but is valid for the current and following year if the Cambria qualifying stay and your request is between July – December. After that time, you must qualify for elite level status each calendar year. Guests who have received a Status Match (elite status upgrade) in a previous calendar year are not eligible for this promotion. Guests who have already had their status matched within the current calendar year for a level lower than Diamond are eligible, however, for the promotion, and their Diamond level upgrade will last until the end of when their current Status Match upgrade would expire.
