Iberia Plus members will have greater availability to use their Avios on Iberia and Iberia affiliated flights from July 1, 2021, which can be booked from today.
The airline has also decided to extend tiers through March 2022 regardless of the number of elite points earned.

Here’s the announcement from the airline:
This summer, Iberia Plus customers will have more places available to redeem their Avios
- For reservations made from today on flights from July 1
- All customers will maintain their level until March 2022, regardless of the flights they have made in the last year
Iberia would like to thank its most frequent customers, the Iberia Plus, for their trust and contribution to reactivating travel.
And, so that this summer they can choose between many more destinations and dates for their vacations, it has expanded the availability of seats on all its flights to redeem Avios (the points of the loyalty program).
Thus, Iberia Plus customers who make their reservations with Avios from today to fly from July 1, will have more options and greater flexibility to redeem their Avios and, therefore, to be able to use them during their summer holidays, which improves significantly the advantages of the Iberia loyalty program.
This initiative joins others already launched by the airline for its Iberia Plus customers, such as maintaining the level in the program, regardless of the number of flights they have made in the last year. This will allow all Iberia Plus customers to continue enjoying the benefits of their current level in the program until March 2022, regardless of the impact that COVID may have had on the volume of trips made in recent months.
The conditions of the On Business loyalty program for small, medium-sized companies and entrepreneurs have also been relaxed this year: all clients of the On 3 level – the highest in the program – will maintain their status during 2021 – regardless of their volume of travel- and, for customers of the On 1 and On 2 levels , the travel expense required to pass the level has been reduced by 50 percent.
With all this, Iberia wants to reward its most frequent customers, both in the Iberia Plus program and in the On Business program, and, at the same time, stimulate the recovery of trips by offering its customers the greatest possible benefits.
I am sure that Iberia Plus members have kept in piling on Avios during the pandemic from their affiliated credit cards and would be now eager to use them towards leisure travel.
My friend in Spain confirmed that the better award availability from July 1, 2021, is actual. There is now Avios availability on flights that had none previously.
