The W Bangkok opened its doors at North Sathorn Road in 2012. The hotel comprises two buildings, a 31-storey tower offering rooms and suites, and a Thai national heritage building known as the House on Sathorn, built in 1889 and with a rather interesting history: originally built as a mansion for a wealthy Chinese businessman, the house was converted into a hotel in the 1920s, and from 1948 to 1999 it hosted the Russian embassy in Thailand. Nowadays it hosts Paii, a casual dining concept featuring modern Thai food.

Here’s some official pictures and the property’s description of their Fantastic Suite:

Marvel at the out-of-the-box design of triangular Fantastic Suites. Avant-garde down to the smallest details, they accent panoramic city views and a modern monochrome backdrop with bright pops of pink and gold.

In the separate living room, this vanguard décor includes metallic gemstones, a statement Geode sculpture and a white L-shaped corner couch. A round coffee table, contemporary rocking chair, and square ottoman wrapped in black horse fur keep you engaged, and guessing.

Conclusion

This is a very W suite: cool, stylish and with lots of gold!. Luxury hotels in Bangkok use to be fairly inexpensive. Rooms at this W sells for around THB 3,000/$100++ and as a category 4, it requires 20 to 30k points per night. This suite in particular is selling for THB 5,000/$160++ for next month, or 55k points per night. Have you ever been upgraded to one of these suites?
