The InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa is the largest luxury resort on the island of Tahiti. The resort opened in 1974 as a Travel lodge, was later rebranded into Parkroyal and Beachcomber and in 2001 was again rebranded as an InterContinental resort. Since then, the resort has been fully refurbished three times, the last one done in 2018.

The resort is located just five minutes from the airport, making it very convenient as it doesn’t involve major transportation logistics. Despite this proximity to downtown, the hotel provides a nice Polynesian oasis with some of the best views of Moorea on the horizon. The rooms and overwater bungalows are tastefully decorated and offer all the amenities of a deluxe international resort.

Here’s some images and how the property describes their King Panoramic Room:

Enjoy spectacular views from your own private haven. Our 60 Panoramic Rooms with Garden or Ocean View are the most spacious of our room categories, measuring 38.5 square metres indoor (414 square feet), plus a nine-square-metre (97-square-foot) balcony. Offering either one king-size or two queen-size beds, they showcase a wide view of our beautiful garden at the ground level and great views of our stunning Lotus infinity pool, with vistas reaching out beyond the lagoon to Moorea Island in the distance.

Panoramic Rooms can host up to three adults, or two adults and two children. They’re among the top choices of accommodation for honeymooners. Panoramic rooms come in two different categories: Panoramic Garden View Rooms (on the ground floor) and Panoramic Ocean View Rooms.

All Panoramic Rooms include: Private balcony or terrace; Bathroom with a bathtub: Air conditioning; Flat-screen cable TV; Direct dial international phone; Internet; Safe; Refrigerator (with mini-bar stocked upon request); 110V/220V outlets; Tea and coffee making facilities; Hair dryer; Iron and ironing board; Maid service daily.

Here is our video review and commentary on this room:

In my opinion, the drawback of many luxury resorts in that corner of the world is the isolation. This is not the case here as this property is accessible, as it is located on the main island and five minutes away from the airport.

Standard rooms in this property sell from$250+/50,000 points. The Panoramic Room is a nice 1-category upgrade for those with Ambassador status.
