Etihad Guest’s partnership with Air Seychelles has ended on May 23, 2021, and you can no longer earn or redeem miles with the airline.
Etihad recently sold its 40% share in Air Seychelles that it had acquired back in 2012 back to the government of Seychelles that now owns the airlines 100%.
You can access Etihad’s page for partner airlines here.
Seychelles bought back the shares for a buck and negotiated the liabilities that Air Seychelles owned to Etihad down by more than 80% (only pays $11M instead of $72M). Seychelles is currently negotiating with the bondholders to have a similar haircut.
The airline’s website claims that they fly to Johannesburg, Mauritius, Mumbai, and Tel Aviv. I would assume that services to at least Johannesburg and Mumbai have been suspended.
Conclusion
Air Seychelles currently has no loyalty program at all as it used a version of Etihad Guest for earning and redeeming and status purposes. Let’s see if they launch their own and/or partners with others.
There is only 18% ownership of Air Serbia left of Etihad’s now-disbanded Equity Alliance.
